History

'Moet' at anchor, Motorina Island, Papua New Guinea, April 2003

'Moet' was built in 1976 in Lyttleton, New Zealand, and has had 4 owners prior to us. We bought her in May 2000, and before this time she had been based in New Zealand, sailing along the east coasts of the North and South islands.

We were the first owners to sail off shore with 'Moet' and spent several months preparing her for ocean cruising. Our first passage was to Fiji, 1200 miles away, and over the years we have sailed to Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, back to Fiji and New Zealand a couple of times, and on to New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa, Australia, Indonesia and now Malaysia.

'Moet' has taken many crew on various trips over the last few years and had much good adventure. She has been home to our family for over 10 years, and a temporary home to many more. We are reluctantly parting with 'Moet' because we have decided to be land based for a few years.
